Sweet, sweet Honduras, oh how we love you! This creamy, delightful honey processed coffee is medium bodied with above average sweetness and brightness. It's easy-to-drink and we encourage you to skip the cream and sugar, since you may miss the milk chocolate, raw sugar, praline, and Meyer lemon notes.
"Manos de Mujer" is a collective of women coffee producers within the COMSA organization, based in Marcala, Honduras. Launched in September 2013, this initiative aims to enhance the living standards of female COMSA members who own and manage their own farms. Beyond coffee production, these women are also part of a broader effort by COMSA's female farmers to diversify their agricultural output, seeking to create a more sustainable, year-round income, while encouraging social and economic equality for Honduran women.
More than 20 years ago, 62 Honduran coffee farmers joined together with a common goal: to transform their farms from conventional to organic production and established COMSA (Cafe Organico Marcala, S.A). COMSA invests its earnings in order to fund many social and educational projects that are geared toward empowering marginalized groups of people, especially youth. From helping to fund education from elementary school through college, to helping provide environmental education, COMSA reinvests into its neighboring communities for the purpose of strengthening and enriching the lives of those who most need help, and by striving to eliminate poverty and foster opportunity.
