We wanted to formulate a powerhouse of a tea that could be used all year long to unify good health and wellness with great tasting, superior quality, organic certified ingredients. Born from our favorite elderberry syrup recipe and carefully modified, we crafted a tea that can help support a healthy immune system.
Elderberries have long been known to contain compounds that battle cold and flu viruses.¹ These mighty berries boost our natural immune system and are packed with Vitamin C, phenolic acids, and antioxidant flavonols that reduce oxidative stress and inflammation like quercetin, kaempferol, and isorhamnetin (a derivative of quercetin). And since we know that Elder Flowers contain up to 10X more flavonol power than the berries, we've also crafted them into our blend. Elderberries and their flowers provide a perfect protein chain of all 16 amino acids.² And like our Butterfly Pea Flower tea, Elderberries are rich in anthrocyanins, compounds that possess strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects.
Other ingredients like ginger, cinnamon, and clove have long been known to be immensely antimicrobial and also fight systemic yeast and fungus.³ While we add fine Licorice Root to naturally sweeten, it is also a part of some the world's oldest herbal remedies. Glycyrrhizin is responsible for the root’s sweet taste, as well as for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties.⁴ ⁵ ⁶
